Casa Nokiate, located in Chueca in the heart of Madrid, blends modern craftsmanship with Japanese influence, merging Latino and Japanese cultures to create a sophisticated experience rooted in cultural celebration. Conceived as a small neo-taverna serving curated small plates, the project transforms a compact, elongated space into an intimate and immersive dining environment.

Designed by Diego Olivero Studio, the spatial constraints became an opportunity to craft a thoughtful and layered experience. The narrow proportions presented a challenge: how to create depth, rhythm, and emotional impact within a limited footprint. Mirrors play a fundamental role in this strategy, generating reflections that extend perspectives, multiply textures, and create a sense of visual continuity throughout the space.

Terracotta defines the atmosphere — applied across floors, textiles, and finishes — shaping the interior into a warm, handcrafted nest. The composition balances sharp detailing with tactile materials, resulting in a curated tension between reflection, color, palette, texture, and art — a controlled and intentional chaos.

At the rear, a small blue bar emerges as a focal point. Its bold tone contrasts with the earthy palette, drawing guests inward and offering a more casual moment within the overall experience — a place to pause, gather, and enjoy a drink in a relaxed yet considered setting.
